This was it. The last day of the competition and the festival – and it was a grand one!

The finals of the competition to crown the UK Stage and Pista Tango Champions finally arrived and all the competitors gave their very best in front of the scrutinizing gaze of the 6 judges: Josefina Bermudez and Fabian Peralta; Noelia Hurtado and Carlos Espinoza; Cecilia Berra and Horacio Godoy.

Congratulations to the winners!

Amidst the buzz circulating the great hall, the afternoon milonga led by DJ Beto and the evening molonga, led by DJ Alexandra Kotelnitskaja, entertained dancers and spectators. The live chacarera event with Los Sacha Amigos made everybody dance happily to the folklore of Argentina.

And now thanks to EVERYONE who participated in this year’s festival, especially the festival team of volunteers who worked hard for months. And huge thanks to all the teachers, couches, friends and family who supported the competitors. And thank you to the whole tango community – the UK and the international dancers – there would not be a festival without you!

Finally the crowed set around in circle to watch the final and truly inspiring performance by Horacio Godoy and Cecilia Berra.

And it came to an end. 3 days and 3 nights of the UK Tango Festival & Championship 2018 ended on a grand finale in the fantastic Porchester Hall.
